Play & Education at Foxes Bridge Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School
At Foxes Bridge Farm, early years learning is aligned with the ‘planning in the moment’ teaching approach. This gives our childcare team the chance to turn any play experience into a learning opportunity.
Planning in the moment builds on a child’s natural interests, enabling them to learn whilst having fun. For example, at one of our nurseries, the children developed a love for the book ‘We are going on a bear hunt.’ Therefore, the childcare team gathered resources from the outdoors such as sand and pinecones, and created sensory experiences with the children to represent each section of the book.
With education and development an everyday focus, this teaching method ensures every activity is stimulating your child in a fun and calm environment!
Babies
From 6 weeks to 24 months
We have built a safe and nurturing environment perfect for babies and pre-toddlers. Through liasing with parents, your keyworker will seek to mirror your home routines to avoid disruption to your feeding, sleeping and nappy change patterns.
To develop babies; we cover all the five senses through Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Touch.
Your keyworker and child will develop a close bond, enabling them to listen for different cues on your individual child’s need and to help with your monthly budget, we provide nappies, wipes and formula milk free of charge.
Babies and Pre-Toddlers will also get out and about on the farm in our buggies. This gives them plenty of fresh air and addition stimuli than within the Nursery building and baby garden.
Toddlers
From 24 to 36 months
As a toddler at Foxes Bridge Farm Day Nursery, your child will be encouraged to develop their vocabulary, be introduced to early maths, and participate in lots of fun activities to get their creativity flowing!
To provide plenty of variety, children will take part in activities within the Nursery building, outside in the Toddler garden and on daily supervised visits to the farm.
We will remain in close relationship with the parents, as we aim to complement your potty-training routine.
Mini Farmers (Pre-School)
From 3 – 5 years
In Mini Farmers, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage to prepare each child for their next big step to school, supporting every stage of development to build confidence and positivity.
With free-flow access to our gardens and daily supervised farm visits, children thrive through activities like feeding animals, planting seeds, and exploring outdoors, sparking curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals, children enjoy real-life learning experiences that make every moment meaningful.
